2024 Enrolment / Leaving
If you have a child enrolling in 2024 or know you will not be here, please email admin@whenuakite.school.nz to let us know. We are in the midst of confirming classes and one or two children can make a big difference to a class.
Board Nominations
Thank you to all of the amazing whanau who have been nominated for the Board of Trustees. We truly appreciate the support offered. We would also like to thank Deirdre Van Beyen, Davor Popadich and Melissa Pauling who have invested so much time over the last three years on the BOT. You have all been professional, well-considered BOT members. We have valued the support given in developing such an amazing school.
Teacher Only Day (T.O.D) - Term 4
The Ministry of Education has allocated schools two teacher-only days (T.O.D.) to be used to support
implementation activities across The New Zealand Curriculum refresh, and assessment systems, in 2023.
Our school will have its second T.O.D. on Friday, 24th November, week 7. Teachers will engage in planning and be given time to strengthen our school curriculum. Students will not attend school on this day.
LOST PROPERTY
We have an abundance of lost property that has been collected. The children have been shown it all a number of times, with very little being claimed, and less is named. We will be donating the current clothes, shoes etc. in two weeks if the items are not claimed at this time.
School Photos
We have school photos on the 26 October. The sibling's form may be collected from the office from Donna. They must be completed and returned to the office prior to the 24 October.

Drop-off times in the morning / Collection after school.
We have noticed that children are being dropped off earlier and earlier. Last week we had children dropped off at 7:40 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.
At this time, school is closed, and children should not be left alone by parents. It is a Health, Safety and Well-being as well as Child Protection concern that children are left on their own at these times.
School Opens at 8:15 a.m. Please ensure you drop your child/ren off at any time from 8:15 a.m. We understand that whanau are busy, however, please make alternate arrangements as we cannot guarantee that staff are here, or are not in meetings at these times.
Collection after School
We have been sitting, watching and advising our tamariki, as they happily walk out the gate at 3:00pm, that they MUST stay on the school grounds until collected by a parent. Please reinforce this with the children that they must stay on the grounds (behind the gates) until they are physically collected.
