Our tamariki have said that adults should show the K.I.T.E. Values as well as them. Do you agree that adults should be Kind, Innovative, Trustworthy and Enthusiastic in everything they do?

School Production
Dear Parents and Whanau,
Our school production, ‘Matariki’ is well underway. The students have all been working very hard on their parts, songs, items and costumes. Performances will be held on Tuesday 5 September at 9:30am, Wednesday 6 September at 5:30pm and Thursday 7 September at 1:00pm. There will be a dress rehearsal at 9:30 on Monday 4 September for children only.
As there are a limited number of seats available in our Activity Room, we will be doing 3 performances, each capable of seating 95 people. There is a booking system in place. Please choose the time that suits you best. Bookings are open from today, Monday 28th August. (The links are below).
Because there is limited seating, we will check the booking notification email which is sent to you immediately after booking. We will also have a list of those who have booked. We will be unable to let those who have not booked to attend.
We are very excited to present our production to you. Please invite your extended family too.
Looking forward to seeing you,
The staff of Whenuakite School.

The staff and tamariki are in full swing rehearsing their parts and making costumes. Thank you to all of the whanau support and in-class help with this.
For the production, we have three sessions. These are limited to 95 seats per session. We have a ticketing system to enable whanau to make a booking. Our sessions (and links to book tickets) are below:

Thames Valley Cross Country:
Tomorrow, we have 16 K.I.T.E. Kids heading to the Thames Vally Cross Country Championships to represent the wider Mercury Bay Schools. This is an outstanding effort. Thank you to all of the following tamariki, we know you will all make us proud:
Jesse Barnes, Izzy Pauling, Zac Pauling, Digby Palmer, Noah Palmer, Ruby Buchanan, Awana Clow, Lucy Bramley, Thomas Ford, Noa Kensen, Reiver Wallace, Dash Wallace, Mya Lomas, George Roach, Alex McLean, Ruby Bougen.
Behaviour
At times, our tamariki make choices that are not reflective of the K.I.T.E. Way. As soon as we are aware of a matter, we look into this and support all children involved. We look at consequences as restorative and a time to learn. We regularly liaise with whanau to let them know what is happening and how we support their child. Our priority is to ensure all children are safe and their dignity maintained.
This last week, we have been addressing a number of niggles and unkind comments that are being made. Please take the time to talk to your child/ren about the K.I.T.E. Way, and in particular, being Kind and Trustworthy. One unkind comment is hurtful and not nice or acceptable; multiple and ongoing is bullying!
Thank You:
Over the last two terms, staff and volunteers have spent a lot of time each week taking the senior children for electives. This has been hugely successful and was only possible due to the support from whanau. Thank you all so very much. Thanks to Mrs Thompson who organised the entire Elective programme - it was innovative and an incredible success.
The children participated in four rotations which lasted three weeks each. These provided opportunities which included: Clay Modelling, Computer Coding, Sewing, Woodwork, Ukulele, Painting, Sketching, Stencil Art, Baking/Cooking, Gardening and Rugby.
