Greetings Parents and Caregivers,
I am going to begin today with a massive thank you to everyone who attended our school working bee on Saturday. It was a great turnout and awesome to see the community coming together.
We really want to thank these businesses and people for their generous donation of time and materials.

Parent Teacher Meetings
A big thank you to everyone who has handed in their meeting request forms. By now you should have recieved an email response letting you know what time your interview is. If you have not recieved an email it is possible that your form hasn't been handed into the office. If you could chase this up, that would be great.
The purpose for having these meetings in place of our Term Two interviews is to develop a stronger parent -teacher relationship, increase the communication between home and school and to give you an update as to how your child has settled in this year. We would also like to discuss and set goals for your child and talk about how we will work together to achieve them.
The interviews will be 10min in duration. If you feel you need more time, please feel free to make an appointment for another day.
Whenuakite School ANZAC Service
Parents, Caregiver and Community Members are warmly invited to attend our school ANZAC service on Thursday 11th April beginning at 9.15am.
End of Term Assembly
Everyone is welcome to join us for this Friday's school assembly. Included in this assermbly will be a farewell and thank you to Mr Clark.
Welcoming our New Principal
Parents, Caregivers and Community Members are invited to join us on Monday 29th April (first day of Term Two) for Gary's Mihi Whakatau followed by a morning tea. This event will begin at 10.00am.
Attendance
Our full time 'Regular Attendance' attendance rate so far this term is 64.38%. Last week our 'Regular Attendance Rate' is 83.56%.
We will continue to monitor this as the term goes on.

Whenuakite School BOT Message
To our wonderful community, what a fantastic response to Saturday's working bee at Whenuakite School. In a number of cases three generations from one family helped out. Some sterling work was done to rejuvenate the sand pit, clear out the island garden on SH25, repair the Carnival sign, remove all the green waste, work in the administration area and TV screens were fitted into a number of classrooms.
Special thanks to Hireworx for an excellent price on their machine, Mike Heath for the green waste removal, Nick Jensen for the non-mulching waste removal, Lauren Jensen for the very welcome baking, Rob Riddle for his skill on the Hireworx 'Dingo' and Mat Barnes, Bevan Clark and Anna Bartlett for coordinating the work programme and to the kids on the sausage sizzle. And last but not least all the workers.
I am looking forward to the Spring working bee already.
