Term 3, Week 1 22/7/2024 - 26/7/2024
From the Principal's Desk
Greetings Parents, Caregivers and Whanau, Week 1, Friday 26th of July 2024
A huge welcome back. Recently the teachers have reviewed the results from Assessments at the end of term 2. These results go to the BOT in the next few meetings for review. Well done students on your improvements so far and as a special reward, the Honourable MP Scott Simpson said if we can improve our reading, writing and maths as a whole school he will come back at the end of the year and buy us all lunch.
Survey - Upgrading the swimming pool
This is the first step to get feedback from stakeholders in our school and community. Please complete and send in. If there is still a need then the Board Of Trustees will work on a plan to move to the next stage in obtaining a feasibility study, apply for funding and if successful gain plans from architects for building consent
Resene Mural Competition
Each student was given a design brief that explains the objectives of the task to draw ideas that might be used in Murals around the school and for the community. If you are involved in a community group please let me know and we can see what we can do for you. We have some very clever and talented artists!
Update on the new Skool loop App
Parents, please upload the Skool Loop App. When you do download look at the ways to make our communication easier. This term start using the "Absentee button" if your child is away, it's simple and very quick.
Jumping July
We fundraised over $2,000 for the Heart Foundation and await the prizes to arrive before our prizegiving. Hopefully, this will be soon and we will notify you on the Skool Loop App.
Potato in the bucket
A big thanks to Jan and our senior leaders who have organised this event. Potatoes and the bucket come home today and are ready to set up straight away, all the best with the growing. (A fun event for the whole family)
Electives
Parents/community there is still heaps of time to join the fun this term, we do need volunteers to help run electives, especially wood and metal creations. Donations of supplies/tools are also much appreciated.
Quiz Night
Last night around 80 adults entered into the Quiz night. A huge thanks to the Cooks Beach Carnival fundraising team who ran an amazing event and fundraised over $800 for the AIMS Games team. Your support, effort, commitment and professionalism is very much appreciated.
