Survey on upgrading the swimming pool
We need feedback from stakeholders in our school and community about swimming pool developments. Extra surveys at school if you need them, so please complete and send them in by next Wednesday 7th of August. If there is still a need then the Board Of Trustees will work on a plan to move to the next stage in obtaining a feasibility study, apply for funding and if successful gain plans from architects for building consent.
Resene Mural Competition
Each student was given a design brief that explains the objectives of the task to draw ideas that might be used in Murals around the school and for the community. If you are involved in a community group please let me know and we can see what we can do for you. We have some very clever and talented artists!
Update on the new Skool loop App and Website
Parents, please upload the Skool Loop App - this links to the new website. When you do download look at the ways to make our communication easier. A sneak preview of the New Website shown on Wednesday night.

Update from the Board of Trustees (BoT)
The Board would like to thank the school community and share that our recent school uniform survey received a fantastic response with over 80 forms returned, with a significant percentage of parents and students expressing their thoughts and preferences, please see the results.
Uniform Survey 2024
Yes | No | |
Parents | 55% | 45% |
Students | 61% | 39% |
Teachers | 60% | 40% |
ECE | 50% | 50% |
After careful consideration, the board has decided that, at this stage, we will not be consulting further on uniforms. We will revisit this in the near future and due to the high level of interest expressed by both parents and students, we are looking to explore options for redesigning the school shirt and creating new school house shirts. These would then be available for purchase and can be worn to school, fostering a sense of pride and unity. Thank you again for your valuable input as we continue to enhance our school spirit and identity!
Following on from this survey it has been brought to the board's attention that we should look into enhancing our school image and promotion. Therefore as a board, we are considering enhancing our school logo and a school emblem.
At Whenuakite School, we believe that our logo and motto should reflect our current commitment to inclusivity and the diverse curriculum we offer while honouring the rich heritage and history represented by our existing design. As we look to enhance our school identity through the logo and or a new emblem, we will aim to integrate new elements that symbolize our community and the values of respect, collaboration, and understanding that define our inclusive environment. This thoughtful evolution will celebrate our progress as a school while acknowledging the legacy of our current logo, ensuring that we pay tribute to our history as we embrace being more inclusive. By weaving together our history and our vision for the future, we aim to add to our logo and motto so that it truly represents who we are today and the journey we are on together. The board wants to reiterate that the logo will be enhanced and added too and ideas will be clearly communicated to the community before any change is made. Your feedback is important to us!
Thank you for your valuable input! Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping our school's identity and ensuring our logo resonates with our community.
