Term 3, Week 4 12/8/2024 - 16/8/2024
From the Principal's Desk
Greetings Parents, Caregivers and Whanau, Week 4, Friday 16th of August 2024
Help needed.
Over the next few weeks, we will have a lot of activities, events, and trips. If you can help in any way please let your child's teacher or us know. We can only offer these amazing experiences with your help.
Attendance and Engagement
We can only help improve learning if students are at school. If your child is away, as parents we have a legal obligation to contact the school. This should be to the office administrator explaining why your child is away.
Maths and Basic Facts!
Recently the Year 3 - 8 students have been completing a basic facts assessment for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This is part of a programme called the "400's Club", just a fun way to reward students for doing their personal best and development in maths. We have just completed the pre-assessment and each child will have goals to improve. We will send home more information, games and strategies for your child to work on this and how you can help. In my opinion, the golden rule for learning is to give it a go, keep trying, play some games and have fun!

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter
The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) in partnership with Coromandel Rescue Helicopter Trust (CRHT) is reaching out to the Thames/Coromandel Region for funding to help undertake its vital missions for New Zealanders living in the Coromandel Region.
So far this year we have attended 604 rescue missions and at a cost of approx. $7,500 per mission, that’s a significant amount we need to fundraise. Your contribution would be hugely appreciated and will go a long way to ensure we get to our next patient, and potentially save that person’s life. It’s that simple.
With no direct government funding, we rely on our business and residential community to keep us in the air. In addition to the direct operational costs, through your donations we are able to train our crews, employ specialist trauma doctors and invest in life-saving innovations. One such innovation is our ability to carry two units of whole blood on our helicopters; the only service in Australasia to do so. Having whole blood means we can carry out blood transfusions at the scene, saving many lives in the process.
With many of our supporters affected by loss of work, funding is now one of our biggest challenges. We would be sincerely grateful if you were able to support us at this very important time.
Our details are as follows:
ARHT, Westpac, Queen Street, Auckland City
Account number: 03 – 0104 – 0970167 – 00
Please quote the reference number: # 115990
We will put the donation towards the next mission. A wonderful gift for some family.
