Term 1, Week 3 17/2/25 - 21/2/25
From the Principal's Desk
Kia ora Kotou katoa, greetings to parents and caregivers,
The teaching team have been busy analysing results and data from the end of last year to look at new groups for learning and who to support through deliberate acts of teaching to accelerate learning. At all times we need your help from home to support what we are doing to ensure the best outcomes for students. If unsure check in with your child's teacher. This information then gets discussed at the Board Of Trustees level to help create the Strategic plan, direction and targets for 2025.
Cooks Beach Carnival
Again a huge thanks to Tracey and the team for the efforts and money raised. This money goes to support all our students and on average, based on 150 children would bring in an extra $300 per child. This means we do not ask for extra money from parents for a lot of activities that cost money, including trips, shows at school, and the extras we get for the students. This why we really need your support with fundraisers.
School and Community Minivan
Our new 2025 Hiace Minivan should arrive around the 28th of July! So our fundraising efforts need to start now! We are planning a few different events that will need sponsors, parent and student helpers. Mauri Mahi, Mauri ora! We need everyone to pitch in. The students have started really well with the in-school fundraising and have gained $500 so far. We will let you know how you can help in the near future.
Learning Journey Catch ups
A big thanks for the efforts made yesterday at our goal-setting conferences. Great to see so many families with lots of positive feedback/ compliments. We had a few feed-forward ideas for improvements that the teaching team will discuss at the next staff meeting. Thanks to the teachers, relievers and support staff again for being very committed to your roles and having high standards and professionalism in your approach.
Parking and Pickups
Please ensure you come to the office to pick up your child during school hours. At the end of the day, all children should be picked up by an adult from within the school grounds. We have created an easier entry and exit from the drop-off carparking, please be careful when you indicate to go out onto the main road.
Thanks, Nga mihi Gary Veysi - Principal

Board of Trustees
Dear parents, caregivers and wider whanau,
Inside the newsletter today is a "Parent/Caregiver Survey" This survey will only be done every 3 years to help us in the following ways.
1. Give us feedback on performance in areas, for us to then look at an action plan to make a positive change.
2. Help the current and next BOT set the Strategic plan for the next 3 years
3. Continue to develop positive community connections
4. To give us a better understanding of the aspirations our parents have for our children.
5. Help improve student outcomes.
Please fill out the survey and return it to the box in the office in the next 2 weeks. We have sent 2 surveys per family, if you require more surveys for your family/whanau please ask at the office.
