Dear Whenuakite School Community,
We have an important announcement to share with you today regarding our Principal, Mr. Eamonn Kelly. After six and a half years of dedicated service to Whenuakite School, Mr. Kelly has informed us of his decision to resign from his position as Principal at the end of the year.
Mr. Kelly's decision to resign is driven by new and exciting opportunities that have arisen for him in the Northland region. While we are saddened to see him go, we wholeheartedly support his pursuit of these new challenges. During his time at Whenuakite School, Mr. Kelly has made outstanding contributions to the growth and development of our students, staff, and school community, and we are immensely grateful for his leadership.
We extend our warmest wishes to Mr. Kelly and his whanau for success in their future endeavours. We are confident that his passion for education and dedication to nurturing young minds will continue to make a positive impact wherever his journey takes him.
The Board of Trustees will now begin the process of selecting a new Principal to lead our school. We are committed to finding an exceptional candidate who shares our vision for Whenuakite School and who will build upon the K.I.T.E. Way Culture that Mr. Kelly has helped establish.
To ensure a thorough and thoughtful selection process, we will seek guidance from an experienced educational adviser. Our goal is to initiate this process as soon as possible to minimize any disruption to the school's operations and ensure a seamless transition in leadership.
Throughout this period of change, we will maintain open and regular communication with the school community, keeping you informed of the progress and important developments. Your input and involvement are valued, and we will reach out to whanau, staff, and tamariki for their thoughts and expectations for the next chapter of leadership at Whenuakite School.
Once again, we extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Kelly for his dedication and contributions to our school. We also appreciate your continued support as we embark on this journey to find our next Principal.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to ensure a smooth process and uphold the excellence that defines Whenuakite School.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.
Sincerely,

News from Mr Kelly
Dear Whenuakite School Community,
It is with mixed emotions that I share some exciting, scary and sad news with you today. After careful consideration and with a heart full of gratitude, I have decided to resign from my role as Principal of Whenuakite School. This decision comes as new opportunities have arisen in my professional journey. My whanau and I will be moving to Northland after Christmas.
Over the years, our school community has been like a second family to me, and I am profoundly thankful for the unconditional support you have extended to both the school and me personally. The children, parents, staff, and the broader community have all played an integral role in making Whenuakite School the extraordinary place it is today.
I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation to the children of Whenuakite School. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and resilience have been a constant source of inspiration for me. I have no doubt that you will continue to shine brightly as you grow.
I am also deeply grateful to all those who have shown unwavering support for our school and myself. Your involvement, dedication, and commitment to our mission of nurturing and educating our tamariki have been instrumental in our success. Together, we have built and upheld the outstanding K.I.T.E. Way Culture that defines our school.
The 'K.I.T.E. Way' culture has been a beacon of excellence, teaching, nurturing, and coaching our tamariki to become not only outstanding students but also outstanding young adults. It has been an honour to be a part of this journey, and I am proud of all that we have achieved together.
While I will be stepping away from my role as Principal at Whenuakite, please know that my belief in the future of Whenuakite School remains unwavering. I have every confidence that our dedicated staff, supportive community, and exceptional students will continue to grow and achieve great things.
As I move on to new opportunities with my whanau, I carry with me the memories of our time together and the knowledge that the Whenuakite School community will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of Whenuakite School from afar.
With heartfelt gratitude and warmest regards,
Eamonn
