Lost Property
We have about a basket full of lost property. well done to Room 6, who have been working on getting lost property back to its owners. Please ensure clothing, shoes and equipment are named or labelled as this allows easy return to owners.
Cross Country
This is one of my favourite school events as it allows for individuals to shine and perform at a high level and as a school and HOUSE groups to work as a team to gain points. It is one of the biggest events we run and welcome all community members to join us.
AIMS Games Meeting
Next Wednesday, the 25th of June, we are having an update meeting in Room 7 from 3.- 4pm in regards to the AIMS Games and updates for parents of students going.
Term 3 Overview

Celebrations
Again, a huge thanks to everyone who pitched in for the fundraising. With the selling of raffles, applying for grants and the selling of school lunches, we made over $48,000 towards the van costs.
Production
As we have staff members away from school next week. We are having to postpone the Aotearoa production from this term to next term. Our new timeframe is week 5 of term 3.
Bus runs and lists
We work hard to ensure students are on the bus list, and the bus monitors check them on the bus. If your child will not be on the bus, we do need to know. Please contact the office - Donna as early as possible, if your child is away or now going to sports and not needing to be on the bus.
BOT Elections
The election for the new Board Of Trustees (BOT) happens in September. Please be aware that we do need new members to join our team. Cooks Beach Carnival Group AGM

Join the Dream Team Behind Our Biggest School Event
Join us for our Annual AGM at COOKS BEACH FIRE STATION
Drinks & nibbles provided along with formalities and a few laughs - RSVP Tracey 0274773350
Our annual School Carnival isn’t just a fun-filled day of games, food, and community—it’s a vital fundraiser that raises up to $40,000 each year for our tamariki. That’s right—other principals and teachers dream of having something like this!
This incredible event helps fund the extras that truly elevate our children’s education, like new tech, sports gear, creative arts programs, shade sails, and playground upgrades. None of this would be possible without our amazing fundraising team.
We meet just once a month, and while yes, we get the job done—there’s also banter, laughs, and a real sense of fun and connection. It’s a team effort, and we need some fresh faces to help steer the ship:
Stalls Manager – Organise and oversee our epic range of stalls. You don’t need experience—just good vibes, a love for community spirit, and a stalls management system that comes with the role, plus a full handover and support until October (when most bookings are already locked in). This can totally be a two-person job—teaming up makes it easier and way more fun!
Volunteers Manager – Coordinate our incredible team of parent helpers on the day. If you’re friendly and a great communicator, this one’s for you!
Shadow Roles for Chairperson & Treasurer – Walk alongside our current team this year so you’re confident and ready to take the reins next time. It’s a smooth handover, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.
This is more than volunteering—it’s your chance to make a real difference, leave your mark, and be part of something other schools wish they had.
Even if you’re just a little curious, reach out! Let’s keep the magic (and the money!) going.
Minivan Update - Raffle draw
On Wednesday 18th of June at 2pm we completed the drawing of the Raffle. Thanks to Hannah from Richardsons Real Estate, who completed the draw. Richardson's also helped with their own fundraising.
Also a special mention to Ryder Thomspon and Val Drewitt Fisher for selling the winning tickets.
Always a Team Effort when we get the job done.

Sports
Netball
The Fireballs - Yr 5/6 Netball Great game for the Girls last night! Playing against Team Go it was neck and neck the first half at 6-6 - great shooting by Emme and Ella, great work in mid court by Isla, Ava and Flo taking advantage of the oppositions mistakes! Changes at half time saw Team Go creep into the lead with a 2 goal advantage. Great hustle by Seazyn and Ana with their defence. Fireballs went down by a close and thrilling game only to lose by 1 goal. Player of the day was Ella, who played her heart out for the whole game and showing massive improvements in all areas! Go get em Fireballs!
Year 7/8 - Flames. It was a chilly evening down at the Mowai Netball Courts as the Flames took on the Coastal Comets.
The two teams were evenly matched from the first whistle, with both sides showing great determination and skill. The Flames held their own under pressure, keeping their eyes up and finding space beautifully. With solid teamwork and plenty of grit, they dug deep in the final quarter to come away with a hard-earned 15–11 win. Player of the Day was awarded to Lucy, who was everywhere on the court – intercepting, supporting, and giving it her all from start to finish.
Year 7/8 - The Networks v Te Puritanga O Hei Score 18-7 to Te Puritanga O Hei. The Networks played their best game of the season. Working as a team they all showed great positioning and had the most amount of ball in our goal circle. Player of the day went to Bella Wood for great ball skills, playing the whole court and perfect positioning.

U6 football team, had an awesome game against Tairua Mini Tikes at Hahei on the weekend. Player of the day went to Blake Thomson and Felix Browne.
